The ground floor has three rooms. The front room is used for storing equipments such as leather bags, pouches, rug sacks, ropes, hats, saddles, stirrups and other odds and ends associated with the animals-especially beast-of-burden. The main room inside is reserved for pregnant cows, milking cows, sick animals needing special care. Sometimes, pigs and piglets might also be housed here. Production of organic manure is an important part of the farming cycle and the farmyard manure thus produced is responsible for maintaining the soil fertility in the fields. Large quantities of leaves collected from the forests, paddy straw and agricultural biomass from the field are used as bedding material for the animals here. Together with the waste from the domestic animals, the leaves decompose, forming the perfect organic manure. The manure is mostly used in the paddy fields in early spring before the rice is planted. Adjacent to the room are the rooms for calves- Buchung-go ray .
